About Ellen Beller
Ellen Beller remembers always being creative. Born and raised in New Jersey, in fourth grade, she began art lessons and won many awards. Although she has a finance degree from the University of Denver, art was always her first love. At 35, she returned to school at the Colorado Institute of Art, where she received a graphic design degree. Residing in Colorado since college, she does community work through fundraising and is also a breast cancer survivor.
Being a fundraiser and a breast cancer survivor has all helped to shape her work in the medium of fused glass. She is currently working on pieces that reflect her childhood. When asked why she chose glass as her medium of expression, she replies simply:
“Glass reflects the image of those around it; while fragile, it becomes stronger as it is heated, and the colors I choose are vibrant and reflect life.”
